Introducing Ruff Jackson Durham

I know this is a little past due due, but I guess it's better late than never. We are pleased to announce the birth of our wonderful son, Ruff Jackson. He has been such a blessing to me and Jared. He has the sweetest personality and prettiest blue eyes, so far. We are totally in love with this little dude. It is so fun to watch him grow and develop. Well, I know many people were wanting to hear his birth story so here it is. Enjoy!

The Birth

Jared and I went to the hospital around 7pm on Tuesday, September the 1st to start the induction. When we got there we were surprised to find out that they didn't have a room for me. Let me tell you I was not a happy pregnant person. I remember going to the bathroom and crying my eyes out because I was so ready/nervous to meet our baby. When I came back from the bathroom the main L&D nurse came to tell us the wonderful news that we had a room. Yea! When we finally got situated it was too late to do what was originally planned. My awesome doctor told the nurse to try another process to speed things up. Thank you Dr. Holt! So, around 10pm i got my first dose of whatever it was and went to sleep. They came back in the room around 2:30am and gave me the second dose and I went back to sleep. Around 3:30am I started to have some pretty painful contraction but tried to sleep throught them. the next thing i remember it was 6am and they were starting the Pitocin. Man does that stuff really work. By 7am I recieved my epidural and was resting peacfully. Oh yeah I was already at 4cm by then. When they came back in around 10am I had already progressed to 7cm. I think it was around this time when I asked for a second dose of the epidural because the first one was starting to wear off for some reason. I think it also made me sick. That was not one of my finest moments. Poor Jared had to comfort me and hold a trash can at the same time. Anyways, noon rolled around the corner and I was at a 10!!!! The nurse called Dr. Holt and she wanted me to labor down before she got there. Let me just tell y'all that was the most pain I have ever experienced in my life. Laboring down is where you let the baby slowly make their way down with out pushing. I will have to say I will definitely do it again for baby number 2 if I can. I swear that made my delivery so much easier. Well, when Dr. Holt finally got there at 12:45pm she wanted me to do several practice pushes. Well to her surprise little Jackson didn't want to waste any time. I pushed 8 times and he was born sometime between 12:55 and 1:00pm on September 2, weighing in at 8lbs 2oz and 21inches long. It was the best experience EVER! Oh I love my baby and I will definitely do it all over again.

Well, there is the birth story. I hope y'all enjoyed!

I'm back!!!
